eco-LRWB Closed Circuit Cooler

Lowest installed height in the industry

The eco-LRWB’s Ellipti-fin® Cooling Coil features CrossCool™ Internal Tube Enhancement, increasing the internal heat transfer coefficient of the coil and thus the cooling capacity of the unit. The eco-LRWB utilize spirally finned elliptical tubes to increase both wet and dry capacity, and are the ideal solution for indoor applications, confined layouts, low sound requirements, and direct replacements.

  • More capacity in a smaller footprint than traditional bare-tube forced draft coolers
  • INDUSTRY EXCLUSIVE stainless steel basin and integral fan enclosure as standard
  • Ideal for Replacement jobs where additional capacity is needed within space constraints
  • Reduced Unit height AND total connected horsepower
  • Increased capacity while fitting within existing ductwork
  • SAVES WATER with significantly increased drybulb switchover temperatures
  • Plume reduction in evaporative mode, plume elimination in dry mode
  • Ranging in capacity from 268 to 4,870 MBH
  • IBC Compliant – Independently certified by the International Building Code to withstand seismic and wind load forces in North America
  • Independently certified by the Cooling Technology Institute
Dry Mode
  • The unit maintains dry mode operation until the temperature set point can no longer be met
  • While in dry mode, no water is used, thus plume is eliminated
  • Dry mode operation can save thousands in water usage and sewage costs annually

In dry mode, the recirculating spray pump is deenergized (Fan on, Pump off). The process fluid enters the cooler through the top coil connection and circulates through the finned coil with the fans energized. Heat from the process fluid dissipates to the atmosphere by sensible heat transfer through the tube wall and fins to the air passing over the coils. The coils are finned to promote optimal airflow over the coil, and to maximize heat transfer area. Air is blown over the finned coil by the fans. The cooled fluid then returns to the process via the bottom coil connection. The unit will remain in the dry mode of operation until the temperature set point can no longer be met. In this mode, NO water is used and plume is eliminated.

Evaporative Mode

In evaporative mode, the process fluid enters the Ellipti-fin coil through the top coil connection and circulates through the finned coils. The water distribution system system cascades water over the tubes of the Ellipti-fin coil, transferring heat to the water. Air is blown through the unit by the fans and travels upward over the coil opposite the water flow, agitating the falling water and increasing the transfer of heat. A small amount of the recirculating water evaporates due to latent heat transfer through the tube and fin walls of the Ellipti-fin coil, removing heat from the system. The cooled fluid then returns to the process via the bottom coil connection.

Ellipti-fin Cooling Coil
  • The most effective coil design in the industry
  • 25% average increase in efficiency
  • Elliptical fins increase surface area and heat transfer
  • Hot-dip galvanized for increased corrosion resistance
Drift Eliminators
  • Limits the drift rate to less than 0.001% of the recirculating water rate
  • Limit the potential of spreading Legionella
  • Constructed of an inert polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
Pressurized Water Distribution System

EVAPCO's Zero Maintenance ZMII® spray nozzle remains clog free while providing even and constant water distribution, providing the industry's best performing non-corrosive, maintenance-free water distribution system.

  • ZMII spray nozzles have a 1-1/4" diameter opening and a 1-1/4" splash plate clearance
  • Mounted in corrosion-free PVC water distribution pipes that have threaded end caps
  • Provides unequaled coil coverage and scale prevention
